- Swiss businessman (and expert frivolous spender) Ueli Anliker decided he wanted to bling out his little supercar. He calls his car the “Anliker McLaren SLR 999 Red Gold Dream”. It has 24-carat gold on the wheels and headlights. The garish body has 25 layers of red paint with 5 kg of gold dust worked into it. And the car’s supercharged 5.4-liter engine has had power boosted from 640 bhp to 999 bhp – giving it a top speed of more than 210 mph (340 km/h). A team of 35 workers spent a total of 30,000 man hours and more than £3.5 million ($5.5 million) working on this vehicle.
